Senior Guidance
College Preparation: Seniors that plan on attending college next fall should be doing the following:
- Choose a college.
- Research your options
- Compare your choices
2. Fill out applications.
- Apply to at least three colleges (don't forget to notify colleges of your final decision).
- You can download most college applications or use the Texas Common Application. www.applytexas.org
- Along with application you will need to include the following:
letters of recommendation (3), resume, scholarship or financial aid information, transcript, and test scores.
3. Take or retake the
ACT www.act.org
and THEA www.thea.nesinc.org .
- Check individual college(s) for requirements.
4. Visit college campus.
- Meet with an Admission Counselor.
- Verify admission requirements.
- Determine actual college costs and ask about financial aid.
- Take a campus tour.
- Investigate academic program(s).
- Find out about housing.
5. Apply for housing.
6. Apply for financial aid.
- Start gathering information now.
- All student(s) going to college should fill out the FASFA in January.
- Go to the FASFA web site and set up a pin www.fafsa.ed.gov
7. Apply for Scholarships.
- Start applying now.

Juniors and Seniors who want to take/or retake the ASVAB: The test will be given in the Fellowship Hall on Sept 14th - 8:30 for AM students; 12:30 for PM students.
